If anyone is still reading this regularly for updates of what is going on in the classroom I apologize for not updating the page in a while. Spring break got me out of my routine and I am just now getting back to updating this page regularly.
Algebra - 5.3 Graphing Quadratics - Over the last week students have been learning how to graph quadratic equations. Today I collected two homework assignments from this week, 5.3 problems 19-27 & problems 28-33. Also today students took a practice quiz over sections 5.1 Classifying Polynomials by degree and number of terms, 5.2 Operations with Polynomials, and 5.3 Graphing Quadratics. We started correcting and reviewing the practice quiz in class. The quiz will be next week. HW - Begin to review and study for the upcoming quiz.
Pre-Algebra - Represent Proportional Relationships - Earlier in the week students took an open note assessment covering all the lessons in Unit 2; Understand Functions, Compare Functions, Understand Linear Functions, Analyze Linear Functions and Graphs of Functional Relationships. Then we started our next lesson, Represent Proportional Relationships. We have been completing much of the work in the books together as this is somewhat new material. Today, students were assigned pages 125-126 in the Practice and Problem Solving booklet and given time in class to complete it, after reviewing the terms and providing examples.

7th Grade Science - Evolution - We started the week off by reviewing and discussing different adaptations of organisms. An adaptation was defined as anything that helps an organism survive in its environment or reproduce. Students were then given an individual project; Build A Beast, in which they have to create a new organism to survive in an environment (determined by rolling a die), avoid predators and capture its prey/food. The assignment is due Friday and students will be presenting their projects to their classmates. NO HW
